As a responsible grower and packer of fresh mushrooms, Highline maintains extensive procedures to control the safety and quality of our product during all stages of production, from material supply and composting, to growing, harvesting, packaging and distribution.

An important element of our cultural practices is that all of Highline mushrooms are grown without pesticides. This is a commitment that separates us from our competitors, satisfies consumers and helps to sustain our environment.

Our assurance of food safety for all our products is managed using Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) systems as recommended by the Canadian Mushroom Growers Association and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

Our most recent effort is working towards becoming Safe Quality Food 2000 certified. SQF is a leading, global food safety and quality certification program and management system, designed to meet the needs of buyers and suppliers worldwide and is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative.

The HACCP program involves six distinct areas which work together to ensure the highest food safety standards. The six areas are the farms, transport, storage, equipment, staff training, and a comprehensive recall procedure.

At Highline, we work diligently to ensure that the mushrooms you receive are delicious and safe to eat.
