February 1st, 2012Team Highline Raises $10K at 12th Annual Polar Bear DipThis past Saturday, Team Highline braved the chilly weather and took the plunge into the cold waters of Lake Erie at the 12th Annual Polar Bear Dip. Congratulations to our team for raising the largest amount of money – $10,003 – for a fourth consecutive year!

February 4th, 2011Highline Associates Raise Over $10,000 in Annual Polar Bear DipDespite frigid temperatures, 16 brave Highline Mushroom Associates from the Leamington and Kingsville farms took the plunge in the annual Polar Bear Dip at Lakeside Park in Kingsville, Ontario. Over $10,000 was raised by Highline Associates making them the team that raised largest amount of money for this event. This is their third consecutive win.
The 11th annual Polar Bear Dip in Kingsville raised a total of $62,000 for two worthwhile community causes, Child-Can and the Youth and Family Resource Network.

January 31st, 2011Canadian Mushroom Growers Donate $60,000 to Breast Cancer ResearchThis past fall, Canadian mushroom growers came together for a great cause. The Mushrooms Go PINK program was a great success and over $60,000 was raised to support breast cancer research. To read more about the results and this great cause, click here.

October 28th, 2010Highline Mushroom Makes Contribution to Local Library
This past May, Highline Mushrooms had the pleasure of sponsoring the new Highline Public Library, located in Kingsville, Ontario. Highline made a financial donation to aid in the renovation of the old Kingsville library and the archive room. The archives room is attached to the library and contains many items and documents relating to the history of Kingsville and the surrounding area.
Not only is reading fun but it is good for you. It strengthens the brain by expanding vocabulary and improving spelling and comprehension. The Highline Public Library is a place in which the whole community can freely obtain knowledge and information. “They have really done a magnificent job on the project. It is very smart looking and contains all of the things you would expect a modern library to have,” said Martin.

October 15th, 2010All Highline Farms Become SQF 2000 CertifiedThis past week, the Kingsville Mushroom Farm became the third and final farm to receive SQF 2000 certification – Congratulations! This means all Highline farms are now SQF 2000 certified, with the Leamington Mushroom Farm receiving certification this past May and the Wellington Mushroom Farm in June.
The Safe Quality Food program provides independent certification that a supplier's food safety and quality management system complies with international and domestic food safety regulations. This enables suppliers to assure their customers that food has been produced, processed, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards, at all levels of the supply chain.
October 11th, 2010Always Growing - New Associate Announcement - Jane RhynoHighline Mushrooms is pleased to announce the appointment of Jane Rhyno as Director of Sales and Marketing.
Jane comes to us with 20 years experience in the retail grocery business including background in category management, private label development and consulting and trade. Along with her produce knowledge and experience, Jane brings with her great passion and dedication to the industry and was a former recipient of the Canadian Produce & Marketing Association’s Mary Fitzgerald award.
In this newly created role, Jane will be responsible for overseeing and directing the marketing and sales functions and in bringing her retail knowledge and experience to better service our customers. This role and appointment is one more indication of Highline’s increased focus on customer centric marketing and strategic business development with our customers.

October 7th, 2010Highline Wins GFS Award
It is with great pleasure to announce that Highline Mushrooms has been named a recipient of Gordon Food Service® Vendor Involvement Process Partner Award. This award is given to suppliers who demonstrate excellence and improvement based on supply chain and customer relationship metrics. Highline has received two consecutive awards since partnering with GFS in 2008. Last year, Highline was the recipient of the GFS Cornerstone Partner Award for the produce category. Congratulations on a job well done.

October 6th, 2010Highline Announces 2010 Scholarship RecipientsHighline Mushrooms is pleased to announce the winners of its 2nd Annual Family Scholarship. September 14th, 2010Highline Family PicnicThis past weekend, Highline Associates and their families from the Leamington and Kingsville farms gathered for the annual Family Picnic. Over 600 people gathered for fun games, good food and great company.

August 23rd, 2010Highline Participates in Tomato Festival Parade
This past weekend, Highline Associates and family their members participated in the annual Leamington Tomato Festival Parade. Our theme: Mushrooms Are A Superfood! Our superheroes did a wonderful job spreading the word that mushrooms are a nutrient-dense superfood. A big thank you to all those who volunteered.

August 23rd, 2010Supporting Those Who Help Others
For two weeks in August, Elizabeth Tremaine dream to be involved in a volunteer program and to help those less fortunate than her came true. With a sponsorship donation from Highline, Elizabeth was able to help build a home for an underprivileged community in Costa Rica.
In addition, Elizabeth’s grade 5 class, which she teaches at Talbot Trail Elementary school, and to which many Highline Associate family members attend, generously donated various school supplies. She had the privilege of hand delivering the donation to an orphanage in Samara.
"I would like to thank Highline again for making it possible," says Elizabeth.

March 25th, 2010Wellington and District Community CentreHighline Mushrooms is pleased to announce that it will be a major sponsor of the new Wellington and District Community Centre, currently being built in Wellington, Ontario.
General Manager of the farm, Jay Kettle made the announcement and said, “One of Highline’s core values is to give back to the community. This has always been important to us, but in these economic times as we see companies struggling all around us, we take our role as the largest employer in Prince Edward County very seriously.”
Highline’s contribution will be put towards the Centre’s new community hall, which will be designed to accommodate 300 people for banquets and other functions. 
October 30th, 2009Highline Launches New WebsiteHighline Mushrooms has officially launched their brand new website, www.highlinemushrooms.com. The launch of the site comes at a time of growth and change for the company and reflects the new branding that has been recently introduced. The site takes a more consumer-focused approach and has three distinct audiences in mind: Customers, Consumers and Associates. The site will not only be a source of information on mushrooms and the company, but it will be used as a communication tool to connect with these audiences.
September 5th, 2009Highline Welcomes the Kingsville Mushroom Farm!It is with great excitement that Highline announces the acquisition of the Kingsville Mushroom Farm. This modern, Dutch-style farm and is located approximately 13 kilometres from the Leamington farms and our head office. This creates great strength and presence for Highline as we now become the largest mushroom grower in Canada.

July 29th, 2009Highline Unveils New Zamboni for Kinsmen Recreation ComplexEarlier this year, the Town of Leamington approached Highline Mushrooms to sponsor a brand new Zamboni for the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex; Highline accepted. Elizabeth O’Neil commented, "Community sports and community involvement – activities which make our people healthier and foster team spirit – are not only worthwhile, but also a part of our mandate as leaders in Leamington’s business community. During our current economic times, when companies across our county are struggling, we are fortunate enough to be in a position to share our stability and strength not only with our own Associates, but with the Leamington-Essex County community at large. Highline is very pleased to be able to contribute to the health of our local sports community in this way."
